“Why is the Stone Cottage Important to our Community?”

The Stone Cottage is important to our community because it carries history in Panmure. The Stone Cottage is one of the only buildings standing for a long time in Panmure.. The Stone Cottage is a small museum that tells people how life worked and looked like in the late 1800s. It was unusual then today and it has made a lot of differences and made people invested in what people used to do in the late 1800s. This Stone Cottage is the only Stone Cottage that is located in Panmure. 

 

It’s important because it tells us how lives worked over time and helps people learn about their culture and  their ancestors(Maybe). It helps us remember how life would’ve been if we were born in that time. The Stone Cottage makes people invested and interested in our area (Panmure). Inside the Stone cottage showed how things were and now. It showed how women used to dress.

 

The Stone Cottage is important to us and the society because it showed how life was and we should all be grateful we shouldn’t be living in that state because we are thankful for people who invented things and people who upgraded things for us like stoves, clothes, and people who invented the radio, etc.

 

Facts:

 

The roads in Panmure in the 1800s were very different from today’s roads. The roads used to be muddy and rocky. Panmure back then looked like a ghost town with barely any shops. The stone cottage was made around 1854-1857 which is quite old. The roof of the Stone Cottage had to be rebuilt due to the heavy rain and many leaks. The co-owners tried to renew it and contact repairers but it took years for it to approve. 

 

This is what the Stone Cottage looks like. It has a small garden with beautiful flowers.
